Rental Hours

Tuesday through Saturday: 10am, 4pm, or 5pm are the designated pick up an drop off times. ALL RENTALS MUST BE RETURNED BY CLOSE OF BUSINESS DAY TO AVOID LATE FEES.  All rentals are booked to 24 hour windows, whatever time you pick up you will drop off at the designated time. Please clarify with rental associate if you will not be able to return your vehicle at the designated returning time.

**YOU MUST DROP YOUR RENTAL OFF WITH AN ASSOCIATE - DO NOT LEAVE MACHINE UNATTENDED IN LOT. UNATTENDED UNAUTHROIZED DROP OFFS MAY RESULT IN A PROPERTY RISK FEE OF UP TO $500 AND OR IF VEHICLE IS STOLEN OR DAMAGED YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ENTIRE COST OF MACHINE OR DAMAGE. IMSD Rental Motorcycles may NOT be placed on any type of trailer for transporting for any reason. If the motorcycle requires towing, it MUST be towed by the authorized company assigned by Indian Motorcycle of San Diego. Customers will be informed of all necessary contact numbers upon rental. 

Return Policy and Late Fees

A rental day begins at 9:00 am, 10 am, 4pm or 5 pm and goes 24 hours to the following day at the same time as pick up..ALL RENTALS MUST BE RETURNED BY CLOSE OF BUSINESS DAY TO AVOID AN AUTOMATIC LATE FEE OF $100If you miss your return time by over an hour, you will develop a late fee of $100. For late returns, up to 2 hours will result in a $150 late fee. After two full hours late, the late fee will be a full day rental charge, and you will have an additional day with the vehicle.  Indian Motorcycle of San Diego will take legal action and seek prosecution if the vehicle is over 24 hours later than the check-in date/time. After 3 days of rentals the discounts kick in for longer rental reservations (contact us for more details). Discounts offered for group rentals of 3 or more riders (contact us for more details). Applicable state, local and other taxes will be added to the price based on mandated rates. 

Requirements:

  • Renter minimum age: 25
  • Valid driver’s license with motorcycle endorsement as required by California law
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a motorcycle
  • Renters are covered with liability insurance, damage collected onto the motorcycle itself is covered by the damage waiver ($1,500 DEDUCTIBLE) unless opt. in for the $15 dollar a day buy down to a $750 DEDUCTIBLE.

  • Free pick-up service available from airport or hotel within 20 miles

Damage Waiver Program

Optional coverage - $15.00 a day

The Damage Waiver Program will provide you with peace of mind. Included with every rental is the base level of damage waiver giving you an out-of-pocket maximum of $1,500.

For an additional charge of $15/day, you will get the benefit of lowering the maximum out of pocket expense to just $750.

Towing Protection: Towing "insurance" is available for $10 per day and will cover the entire cost of towing within a 300-mile radius.  Beyond the 300-mile radius, the rider will be responsible for the difference in cost of having the motorcycle towed for any reason. 

Customer Orientation

Every client will receive an orientation to the motorcycle. The client orientation will cover all aspects of safe motorcycle operation, the clients’ maintenance responsibilities, local and state laws. The rental associate has the right to refuse rental upon evaluation of customer's rider skill. If for whatever reason rental associate feels the renter is not fit to rent the motorcycle, rental will be refunded and booking canceled at no additional fee to the renter.

Fuel

Fuel costs are the renter’s responsibility. Indian Motorcycle of San Diego takes no responsibility for motorcycle fuel consumption and mileage. As an added convenience, you may prepay for fuel for $20 on motorcycles or $40 on Slingshots. If prepaid fuel is not purchased and the rental needs refueling, a $25 charge for motorcycles and a $50 charge for Slingshots will be added.

Maintenance and Tire damage Responsibility

The renter is responsible for reporting mechanical failures immediately. Instructions and procedures for maintenance expense reimbursement are provided at pick-up. Customers may be held responsible for mechanical damage due to negligence in motorcycle operation or failure to provide information relating to a malfunction while operating the motorcycle. .

Motorcycle Substitution

Customers can substitute for another motorcycle at any time, subject to availability for the entire rental period. For substitutions in the same rental class, there will be no substitution charge to the customer. If the substitution results in the customer going up rental class, the customer will be charged for the difference to the additional rate for the period they rent the substituted bike.

Walk-In Renters

Subject to the availability of the rental for the entire rental period desired, walk-in renters will always be welcome and can rent the motorcycle of their choice. Contact Robert Morgan or Sarah Andrew upon arrival.

Restrictions

Violation of listed restrictions voids insurance and the client will be held liable for damages.

Road Restriction: Rental motorcycles are not allowed on gravel roads, dirt roads, beaches, logging or other non-public roads.

Use Restriction, the rental vehicle man not be used: (1) by anyone other than the authorized driver; (2) for instruction or driver's license training; (3) to carry passengers or property for hire; (4) to operate in a race or contest; (5) while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance; (6) for conduct that could be charged as a crime for; (7) recklessly; or (8) while overloaded.

Refund Policy

All confirmed rental reservations are non-refundable unless the cancellation is at least 48 hours before your rental day beginning. There will be no refunds on early returns.

Payment Methods

Indian Motorcycle of San Diego accepts the following methods of payment: VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and Diners Club.  International. Checks, personal checks and cash are not accepted.

Mexico

Rental motorcycles may not be taken into Mexico and must stay in the United States.

Booking Terms

Reservation must be paid in full to guarantee rate and rental date. 

Reservations are non-refundable.

Areas Served

Our rental department serves all areas in San Diego County and Orange County, including Chula Vista, El Cajon, Temecula, Murrieta, North County, Escondido, San Marcos, Vista, Oceanside, San Clemente, Anaheim, Huntington Beach Del Mar, La Jolla and so much more.


Included with all Indian motorcycle rentals: State mandatory liability insurance covering property damage and bodily injury up to the State required minimum limits. Liability insurance covers damage to property and bodily harm suffered by others in a crash that you caused and is secondary to all other coverage which is available to you. You are not insured for Damage or Theft. You have options available to upgrade your Liability and limit your personal responsibility to the rental vehicle. Please carefully check with your insurance provider. You may already be covered. Indian rentals are considered a motorcycle rental, therefore most credit cards and automobile insurance plans do not transfer the same way as they do with normal car rentals. PLEASE always check with your credit card or insurance company for coverage limitations and deductible information prior to rental. If your insurance covers motorcycle rentals, you may require that the rental company submit any claims to your personal insurance. Accidental Damage Waiver (ADW) is not insurance and covers only accidental damage to the vehicle. By accepting ADW with your initials on this rental document at the additional daily rate shown above, and the vehicle rented to you is operated in accordance with this agreement, we assume responsibility for damage to the vehicle above the listed renter responsibility for all parts, labor and loss of use. You also acknowledge reading the notice on loss damage shown here on the rental document, or in these terms. Damage to the Vehicle - If the vehicle is damaged as a direct or indirect result of a violation of the rental agreement, you are responsible and must reimburse us for all loss of, damage, and theft to the vehicle regardless of cause. A police report must be filed for all damages and accidents. If the vehicle is damaged, you will pay our estimated repair cost, or if, in our sole discretion, we determine to sell the vehicle in its damaged condition, you will pay the difference between the vehicle’s retail fair market value before it was damaged and the sale proceeds. If the vehicle is stolen and not recovered, you will pay us the vehicle’s fair market value before it was stolen. You understand that you are not authorized to repair or have the vehicle repaired without our express prior written consent. If you repair or have the vehicle repaired without our consent, you will pay the estimated cost to restore the vehicle to the condition it was in prior to your rental. Restrictions – This accidental damage waiver is void if the damage or loss results from or the damage or loss occurs while (1) intentional, willful, wanton, or reckless conduct; (2) operation of the vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol; (3) towing or pushing anything; (4) operation of the vehicle on an unpaved road if the loss is a direct result of the road or driving conditions; (5) used for commercial hire; (6) used in connection with conduct that could be charged as a felony; (5) involved in a speed test orcontacts or in a driver training activity; (7) operated by a person other than an authorized driver; or (8) operated outside of the United States. A police report must be filed for all damages and accidents or this waiver will be void. By signing below, you acknowledge that you have received and understand these restrictions.
